The 1960 Chevrolet was a "toned-down" version of the 1959s. The horizontal fins became less pronounced and twin bullet taillights surrounded the back-up lights on each side, all riding on shiny metal concave trim. The front featured an oval shaped grille with quad headlights. In 1960 Chevrolet introduced the Corvair, Chevrolet's entrance into the compact car market. It featured a rear mounted, horizontally opposed 6 cylinder engine, with a rear-mounted transaxle.
