Chevrolet more than made up for its lack of fins on the 1958 Chevrolets with its introduction of the 1959 model. Large, wing-like horizontal fins, capped with "cats-eye" taillights gave the 1959 Chevrolet a distinctive look. At the front, the grille was a one-piece stamped design with parking lights nested above in intake vents in the leading edge of the hood. An oversize windshield added dramatically to the overall glass area. Side trim was a twin spear beginning just shy of the headlights continuing to the taillights.
